Goals and Objectives

Participants will gain new knowledge about integrating technology into instruction to achieve high standards of learning through learner engagement. Participants will have an opportunity to actively participate in discussion and experience a hands-on, virtual exploration to:
  • Identify strategies for integrating technology in G/T classes;
  • Examine 21st Century G/T teaching and learning frameworks using innovative digital and web technologies;
  • View video clips of teachers applying the 21st Century Standards of Learning (SoL) and NETS Technology Standards to engage and collaborate with G/T students and colleagues. For example a Model project Globaloria and the George Lucas Educational Foundation 21st Century projects (www.glef.org)  will be introduced.
  • Review a new instructional tool for facilitating Project-based learning. For example one  tool is known as the TASC Wheel, Thinking Actively in a Social Context

Create an interactive and inclusive learning environment

  1. Differentiate learning and teaching styles 
  2. Engage students using new technologies
  3. Practice appropriate verbal and body language 
  4. Collaborate and team with other teachers
  5. Use questioning techniques and
  6. Give immediate and effective feedback to increase motivation

Recognition/Motivation

  1. Develop a  performance-based G/T Teacher Training Program 
  2. Establish a recognition system  for teachers and students 
  3. Build an active database to communicate contact details for all service providers and support partners 
  4. Develop an “Inclusive Education and G/T Toolkit” (See examples by following E-Learning Resources on this website: The Kansas City Model, USA)
